Nudge Education is a national intervention service for children that are chronically disengaged from education.
We are hopeful that the tailored and bespoke interventions that we design and deliver will help to re-engage thousands of children across the country in the coming years.
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Service Manager to join our Service Delivery team.
Main accountablilites:
The Service Manager holds strategic responsibility for this national delivery network, leading Regional Leads and the Safeguarding Team to ensure services are safe, impactful, and firmly rooted in both our academic and therapeutic principles. They drive service quality, staff development, and innovation, helping us meet the growing demand for tailored interventions that lead to positive, lasting transitions for the vulnerable young people we support.
Leadership and Line Management
Provide day-to-day leadership and support to Regional Leads and the Safeguarding Team, ensuring effective delivery, staff development, and consistency across regions.
Oversee and monitor the quality of interventions to ensure they are holistic, safe, impactful, and aligned with Nudge’s academic and therapeutic ethos.
Lead key improvement and innovation projects to strengthen service provision, systems, and practice across the organisation.
Collaborate with the directorship, team leads and Quality, Compliance & Improvement Lead to drive service quality, communication, alignment, and strategic development.
Ensure all teams uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and ethical practice, with a view to becoming the National Designated Safeguarding Lead (NDSL).
Requirements:
- Deep understanding of inclusive education in the UK, SEND, alternative provision, trauma-informed practice and therapeutic approaches.
- Confidence with safeguarding legislation and best practice.
- Minimum of Safeguarding qualification level 3.
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in a related subject.
- QTS or equivalent qualification in a therapeutic subject, education or training.
- Experience of managing people and teams.
- Experience in alternative provision, therapeutic education, or education inclusion services.
- Track record of delivery service improvement projects.
- Willingness to travel across the UK to Nudge regions as needed.

Key details of the role:
- Start date: 1st September 2025
- Salary: £45,000-£50,000
- Location: North East (hybrid) or remote
- Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week
- Contract duration: 1 year fixed term (could lead to Permanent role)
- Reporting to: Director of Partnerships & Service Delivery
- Responsible for: Regional Leads (8 nationally) and Safeguarding Team (3 based in North East)
- Closing Date: 31st July 2025
